I bought this back in 2020 and I fell in love because of the engine noise and the features it came with - 4.0
Great Car! Cons are mostly personal preferences
by Kezi on 7/17/2024 9:09:01 PM
I bought this car in 2020, used with 40k miles on it. Pros: Reliable. At 111,000 miles now it is still running great. No mechanical or engine problems yet. Just regular oil changes, tire rotations, etc. Neutral: Gas mileage averages 25-29 mpg. Which is good, but my old 1997 Geo Prizm averages the same. You would think my 2019 Veloster would have better gas mileage than my 1997 Geo Prizm right? Cons: Internal Tire Pressure Reader: The internal tire pressure reader is always reading my tire pressure as low, but every time I check, the tire pressure is fine. So the “tire pressure low” light is always on. Cost of Parts: I had to replace my bottom engine cover and my radiator support system and it was very expensive ($1200 total) because I could only go to the dealership for this. Turns out, a lot of parts can only be replaced at the dealership. Personal Preference Cons: This car is too low to the ground! Not enough ground clearance for me and my terrible driving lol. I’ve scraped the bottom far too many times. The engine cover came loose and broke from dragging. I replaced it, but then it came loose again, and I haven’t been able to afford replacing it again. Another personal con: there are blind spots in the back and I just don’t have the same spacial awareness driving this, as I did driving my Geo Prizm. Another personal con: it turns out, I wish it had 4 doors lol. I thought 3 doors was quirky and cool but now I’m sometimes annoyed by my lack of fourth door. Another personal con: I loved the center console in the back seat, but when I needed 5 people to fit in my car and could only fit 4, I wished the center console wasn’t there. And the night I had to sleep in my car, I definitely wished that center console wasn’t there, preventing me from laying down in the backseat. But my backseat riders always love the center console! They have drink holders that are very convenient!
